The competition has attracted more than 450 submissions from more than 10 famous universities in all corners of the world. Chu’s thesis, entitled Building a Community with Shared Future for Mankind—China’s Contemporary Wisdom of Global Governance and the Thoughts of the Times, combines the global combat against the COVID-19 and Xi Jinping’s statement on the “community with shared future for mankind”, fully examines the “question of the times” faced by humanity in the context of globalization and seeks its ultimate answer from the perspective of the changes of China’s diplomatic philosophy and international politics.

From November 16 to 17, 2019, Chu Yixiong and Zhang Jiawang, also from the Class of 2022, were invited to the 6th National Undergraduate Exchange Forum on “State Governance and Political Management—the Theory and Practice of the Communist Party of China”, co-hosted by the Center for the Study of the Revolutionary Spirit and Cultural Resources of the Chinese Communist Party, the School of Marxism at Fudan University, the Communist Youth League Committee of Fudan University and the Fudan University Student Association. The above-mentioned studentsawards mark the fruition of the Scientific Research and Education Program of the ideological and political education major of the School. In order to strengthen the construction of national first-class majors and cultivate the academic interests and scientific research abilities of undergraduates majoring in ideological and political education, the ideological and political education major of the School regularly organizes book clubs to promote students abilities of reading, diligent thinking and communication, and to pave the way for students to take part in scientific research. Students are encouraged to participate in innovative academic lectures by experts and scholars in related fields organized by the School and SWJTU to broaden their academic horizons, enhance their understanding of national construction and development in various fields, and promote their academic sensitivity and awareness of relevant issues. The School also encourages and guides students to actively apply for various types of scientific research and training projects in SWJTU, participate in social research and write research reports, and helps students improve their ability to put their theoretical knowledge and research methods to the test in the process of completing the projects. Through these efforts, the research and innovation capacity of undergraduates majoring in Ideological and Political Education has been significantly improved, which provides value lessons for further developing and improving the research quality and capacity of undergraduates of the School.
