Recently, the Ministry of Education announced the winners’ list of the 8th University Scientific Research Outstanding Achievement Award (Humanities and Social Sciences). Professor Lin Bohai’s book Humanistic Orientation in Ideological and Political Education won the third prize.
The 8th University Scientific Research Outstanding Achievement Award (Humanities and Social Sciences) is a major measure of the Ministry of Education to reward the outstanding achievements of philosophy and social science workers in universities, demonstrate the major theoretical and practical achievements of the social sciences of universities in serving the development of the Party and the country, and promote universities to accelerate the construction of philosophy and social sciences with Chinese characteristics, embodying the scientific research level of an institute and the winner.
During the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-2020), the scientific research level of our School has been significantly improved, achieving breakthroughs from zero in major and key projects of the National Social Science Fund. The School has undertaken 22 National Social Science Fund projects with a funding of more than RMB 10 million, and won 3 second prizes and 5 third prizes of Sichuan Provincial Social Science Outstanding Achievement Award. The winning of the 8th University Scientific Research Outstanding Achievement Award hosted by the Ministry of Education is another landmark achievement.
Professor Lin Bohai has long been engaged in research on frontier issues of ideological and political education, and is one of the earliest scholars in China to conduct research on the humanities of ideological and political education. In his book, he deeply explained the nature of human beings and the coordinated orientation of ideological and political education, the subjectivity of humans and the individualized orientation of ideological and political education, human needs and the humanized orientation of ideological and political education, as well as the free and comprehensive development of people and the personification orientation of ideological and political education, playing an important role in promoting the development of ideological and political education, and the implementation of ideological and political education practices.
